Career Expo @ Storm Stadium

The Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to be committed to developing tomorrow’s workforce through a partnership with the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. During the month of October the Chamber along with the district will be highlighting one of the regions strongest educational programs (K-12) during “Celebrate Our Schools Week”. Heroes in Education is a new recognition program that aims to honor those individuals in our district who make significant and lasting contributions to LEUSD. We are confident that a strong leadership role by the Chamber will ensure a continuous supply of workforce ready students for years to come. Please make every effort to support this VERY IMPORTANT week by participating in some of the week’s events.
The week begins on Monday night, October 4th, with the 7th Annual Education Career Expo. The event will be held on the concourse at Storm Stadium. One 6 foot table and 2 chairs will be provided for your representatives. We need businesses to volunteer to interact with 600 to 700 high school students in three (3) sessions between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on how to be successful in your field of expertise. Sessions will be very informative and influential in developing career choices for our future workforce.
Tuesday October 5th, is a Tour of Our Schools beginning at Lakeside High School at 8:00 a.m. for Brokers, Developers and Realtors to take a tour of the school district and learn first hand how well the district is performing academically. In addition, there will be an abundance of material in print and CD format to allow you to customize material to reach your targeted audience. Wednesday October 6th, is our 4th Annual Principal for a Day program. This gives business leaders a first hand opportunity to shadow a principal for half a day. The program concludes with a debriefing at noon at the Diamond Club. Contact Jose Carvajal if you are interested at 951-253-7174.
Thursday October 7th, is our Superintendent’s Annual Report to the Community at the Diamond Club at 6:00 p.m. LEUSD Heroes in Education will be recognized. You can purchase tickets on-line at
Friday October 8th, is the school district’s 3rd Annual Reverse Vendor Fair. LEUSD will present information on how you can become a supplier to the school district. The event will be held at the Ortega High School Multi-Purpose room. The Reverse Vendor Fair will entail an update on the types of materials and supplies that the district purchases and what a vendor needs to do to be put on the list of qualified vendors for the district. Save The PLanet We Live In Awareness Race!!

On Saturday, October 9th, 2010It is the intention of Elsinore High School Football Booster Club to schedule a 5K/10k race to bring awareness to the community and at the same time assist our local high School. The goal is to keep this race as a yearly event for the Wildomar Community. It is to provide the community with the importance of bringing everyone together to bring awareness of an important cause. It is for a wholesome, family atmosphere that is to appeal to all ages, interests, and income levels. It is also our intention to provide an enjoyable event in which the entire community will feel welcome to participate in. This annual Save The Planet Awareness Race is to provide financial assistance to the Elsinore High School Football Program, which includes: Football, Band, & Cheer.

Grand Opening of the new Animal Shelter will be Saturday, October 23rd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The address is 33751 Mission Trail. There is limited parking so come early. Parking is available along Corydon with a sheriff's duty escorting across the street or parking at Trevi Entertainment Center and ride the trolley to the event.
